Happy Easter everyone.
If you are like me, you feel relaxed, at ease, all smiley and positive
beside water? Now I know what it’s all about I can’t keep away – even if it’s
an urban lake or small fountain in the middle of town, the health benefits are
immense.
Sometimes, we find ourselves on our own and in a reflective state of mind.
We know that an idle mind can sometimes be a destructive mind and science tells
us that what we focus on we amplify. You know how it goes, something goes wrong,
and we think, “why me, what have I done wrong?” Then we start to make
a list of bad stuff and get dragged down into a place we don’t like. Or we buy
those shiny red shoes because none of our friends have them, then suddenly, we
are surrounded by shiny red shoes, everywhere!
When we flip that round, and make a conscious effort to notice even the tiniest,
good things which make us smile, for me it’s the sun is shining, those
daffodils are pretty, the birds are busy just now, there’s a good film on the
telly tonight, the sun is lovely and warm on my back, etc., it kicks something
off in our brain and we begin to notice more and more of the good stuff and our
happy hormones start to flow.
So, I am off with my dog Nellie for a saunter by a river and no doubt muddy
paws on the sofa later J
